November Blog Chain – Book Blurb
Yep, it’s the November Blog Chain, and this month’s prompt is to write up a back cover blurb for a book you have written or would like to write. It should be short, sweet, yet give a sense of people and events without totally spoiling the ending.

The Girl Who Sold the World
Sam Jones is bored – bored of his boring job, bored of his boring apartment, and bored of his boring life. For fun he starts answering ads in the local newspaper, and when he sees a message “ForSale: World. $1″ he can’t resist checking it out. But beautiful Amy Gold isn’t entirely honest when she sells him the old globe. Before long, Sam discovers he has the world in his hands — quite literally.
With responsibility for keeping the world turning, angry Greek gods to placate, and a missing Goddess to find, Sam’s boring but very very safe life is quickly endangered – can he find Amy Gold before he loses everything?

Oh, it sounds tons of fun! Really enjoyed the blurb.
I want to read that NOW!! lol
What I would give to stumble into such a mess.
Love it.
This sounds cool. Short, sweet, and to the point. I would definitely read this.

Hey, that’s sounds like fun. I’d definitely pick it up.
Wow! What a cool idea. Shades of Peirs Anthony but with Greek Gods.
I’d read that for sure.
The last line makes me wonder why he wants to find her. What does he hope to gain? Also, is she a supernatural being? It’ s not quite clear.
An editor might balk at the overuse of boring, but then again, it might just tickle their fancy!

Again, anything to do with Greek mythology always catches my eye. I wonder who this Amy Gold is, a bored Goddess of Love perhaps?

Nicely done. Conflict, a neat hook, and those pesky Greek gods all wrapped up together. I’m beginning to get a little sick of the Olympians, but I’d read this.

This sounds hilarious!! Love that you get an idea of the voice in the blurb, too
Cool premise. I would definitely pick something like this up.
I loved the repetition of the word “boring” in para 1. This blurb is a win for me. I’d be very curious to learn more. My only quibble is the Greek gods and goddess sort of come from outta nowhere and aren’t tightly linked to the “world” but are listed as an additional challenge. I assume they somehow come with the globe so maybe one more sentence to intro how they come into the picture. Very minor stuff though cause I’d still flip it open to read more.
